Types of PSORIASIS - How Armstrong Skin-Aid Works
1. Plaque Psoriasis. This is the most common form of Psoriasis and the one for which most people use ARMSTRONG SKIN-AID. In addition to causing extreme discomfort and embarrassment, Plaque Psoriasis prevents the skin (the body’s largest organ) from breathing properly. This dangerous condition causes about 400 deaths per year.
ARMSTRONG SKIN-AID STAGE 1 begins to work by relieving the pain and itch associated with the “plaque” or scales of Psoriasis. The redness, dryness and extreme itchiness of the skin arouses in the sufferer the natural desire to scratch or otherwise scrape at the area affected. This in turn causes further irritation, inflammation, bleeding, and leads to infection. It is a vicious cycle that is alleviated with the use of ARMSTRONG SKIN-AID. How is this accomplished?
First, the natural, moisturizing combination of the ingredients in ARMSTRONG SKIN-AID STAGE 1 soothes the irritated, inflamed skin, reducing the itch and the need to scratch.
Second, the ingredients in ARMSTRONG SKIN-AID form a moisture-binding barrier against environmental irritants and are natural antiseptics, preventing further inflammation and allowing the skin to begin its own natural healing process.
Third, the all-natural formula aids in the sloughing-off, or removal, of the plaque (scales). Vitamin A, which is naturally present in the ingredients, increases the rate of skin cell turnover and temporarily increases skin Collagen, allowing the skin to breathe again and further contributing to the natural healing process.
After the use of ARMSTRONG SKIN AID STAGE 1 has removed the plaque, the skin usually appears reddish in color and is very thin and sensitive. Now is the time for STAGE 2. This serves a two-fold purpose:
- Because there is no permanent cure for Psoriasis, the continued use of ARMSTRONG SKIN-AID STAGE 2 will help to prevent the return of the scales of Plaque Psoriasis.
- The extremely sensitive and damaged skin will be strengthened and returned to its natural tone and color.
If the scales of Plaque Psoriasis begin to return, simply return to the use of STAGE 1. This will relieve the problem right away and prevent a more severe outbreak of scaly, itchy skin.
2. Guttate Psoriasis. This form of Psoriasis usually begins in childhood or in young adults and is evidenced by small, red, individual spots on the skin rather than the scales usually associated with Psoriasis. It often is associated with another infection (such as strep throat) and therefore may go away as that infection is healed. At times, though, it may be a pre-cursor to the development of Plaque Psoriasis later in life.
While the spots of Guttate Psoriasis may not look as bad as the scales of Plaque Psoriasis, the itch is still a problem and the area may be quite irritated and painful. Application of ARMSTRONG SKIN-AID STAGE 1 will soothe the itch and irritation, relieving the symptoms so that the body can more effectively fight the infection.
3. Inverse Psoriasis. This particular form of Psoriasis is found in the soft, moist skin-folds of the body, such as the armpits, groin, under the breasts and around the genitals and buttocks. Rather than the scales of Plaque Psoriasis, Inverse Psoriasis lesions usually appear smooth and shiny. Because of their location in the tender areas of the body, these lesions are particularly sensitive to irritation from rubbing and sweating.
The unique formula of ARMSTRONG SKIN-AID is particularly suited for sufferers of Inverse Psoriasis. The ingredients in ARMSTRONG SKIN-AID form a protective barrier on these sensitive body areas, preventing the skin from rubbing and reducing the amount of sweat produced. This will allow the lesions to heal and the skin to return to a healthy state.
Also, because ARMSTRONG SKIN-AID contains no steroids, there are no side-effects associated with its use – particularly important when used in the tender areas where Inverse Psoriasis appears.
4. Pustular Psoriasis. Pustular Psoriasis is characterized by white pustules (blisters of non-infectious pus) surrounded by red skin. It is not an infection, nor is it contagious. Often, Pustular Psoriasis is a complication of Plaque Psoriasis triggered by the internal and topical medications prescribed for its treatment (e.g. steroids).
ARMSTRONG SKIN-AID for PSORIASIS will work for Pustular Psoriasis in much the same way it does for Plaque Psoriasis. It’s completely all-natural formula will soothe the skin, relieve pain and accelerate the natural healing process – with virtually no side-effects!
5. Erythrodermic Psoriasis. This is an extremely inflammatory form of Psoriasis which generally affects persons with unstable Plaque Psoriasis, (again often a side-effect of the medications, such as steroids, prescribed for its treatment). The erythemia (reddening) and exfoliation (shedding) of the skin are often accompanied by severe itching and pain.
As with other forms of Psoriasis, ARMSTRONG SKIN-AID will help to alleviate the pain and itching of Erythrodermic Psoriasis. However, this form of Psoriasis adversely affects the body chemistry, causing protein and fluid loss that can lead to severe illness. Therefore, medical attention is absolutely necessary.
6. Psoriatic Arthritis. This is a chronic inflammatory disease of the joints and connective tissue associated with Psoriasis on the skin. Approximately 10-30% of Psoriasis sufferers develop Psoriatic Arthritis. Prompt medical diagnosis and treatment can relieve pain and inflammation and possibly help prevent progressive joint damage.
