» Salve
an ointment applied to wounds, skin irritations, burns, etc., for purposes of soothing or healing.

» Skin
the body's outer covering and its largest organ. Made up of the Epidermis and the Dermis, the skin protects against heat and light, injury, and infection. It regulates body temperature and stores water, fat, and vitamin D.

» Soap
a cleansing agent, which cleanses by lowering the surface tension of water, by emulsifying grease, and by absorbing dirt into the foam.

» Subcutaneous
the deepest layer of skin, composed of fat, tissue that separates the fat in lobules (pockets), nerves and blood vessels. The fatty tissue is biologically active and subject to inflammatory processes.

» Sun Burn
result when the amount of exposure to the sun (or other ultra violet light source) exceeds the ability of the body's protective pigment (melanin) to protect the skin. A serious sunburn may be as serious as a thermal burn and may have the same effects, such as blistering, swelling and fever.

» Systematic Medication
medication that circulates throughout the body and is taken orally or given by injection or infusion.
